Piper all wrapped up - so I could get the kids ready and off to school this morning. (please ignore the messy hair, pj's, and unmade bed!)

We're home!

Piper and I came home this afternoon - Levi was so happy to leave the hospital with us, instead of having to leave us behind, and the kids were very excited to come home from school to see us sitting on the couch!

Today my nurse from Saturday night was working again, but as a teaching nurse. She was leading a group of student nurses who had just started with practicum. She asked if she could borrow Piper to give the girls a chance to see a healthy newborn - feel her soft spot, listen to her heart beat, go through a newborn check. While they were doing this, I got a chance to have a nice shower, too! I made sure to get a photo of her with the girls - the nurse on the end, with the papers, was my labor and delivery nurse - and she's one of the 2 nurses who delivered Piper!
Wouldn't it be neat if Piper grew up to become a nurse herself? We'll know where it all started!

new rooms!

Ruth's room isn't totally done, we still have the little finishing and decorating things to do, but it was move-in ready yesterday, so we spent the afternoon and evening moving her downstairs!



We love her light fixture!

And that left her room upstairs ready for Levi! He was SO excited! Josh made his bed and he skipped around the house yelling "Yahoo!!!". We didn't take the crib down yesterday, just in case he still wanted it, but he wanted to sleep in his new big bed so we tried it - and he did great! Went to sleep on his own, never came out or played with anything, and didn't make a peep all night! Such a big boy!!

And Levi has been helping with the renos, too...

He honestly played with that board and those blocks of wood for hours - first he used a screwdriver to put in and take out a couple drywall screws, then he fixed the stairs, then the board was a ramp for cars, a bridge for cars, and THEN it was his skateboard! A day full of fun with just a board and some cars - what a kid!

Snow Play!

They all had so much fun playing in the snow this year - and we've certainly had plenty of it for them! (and NOW spring can come?!)

Ruth's getting a new room!

Our Spring Break this year was filled every day with home renos. We're making a room for Ruth downstairs by splitting up the laundry room area.
Ruthie is very excited to be getting her new room, especially because it will give her some space from the boys. And Levi is sort of excited to be getting his own room as well - although he says he's "too little" for that big bed!

The first day was just ripping everything apart and emptying out the room. Zech wanted to help, so he ripped out all the ceiling tiles all by himself!

Then a wall gets built... with help, of course!

And put up! Voila, 2 rooms!

Since then, lots more has been done - "real" walls now, and the painting is getting worked on. (the extra wall area by the door will be the closet)

more snow and technical difficulties

Yes. More snow. Crazy.
Levi looked outside this morning and yelled. He told me "It's snowing from the sky. I don't want snow on the ground anymore." I'm with him on that one. Spring - where are you?!!

Ran into some technical difficulties with my computer and doing taxes - Josh tried to get windows going to run a program, my whole computer crashed, he was able to sneak a way in to get my photos, videos, and documents (thank goodness!), and then had to reload everything from "scratch" onto the darn thing.
All that to say I don't have the program I need to do the videos. Hoping to get that on here this weekend and be able to share the Ice Show skating with everyone! Oh, and I have a few videos of the kids playing on the snow pile in the yard too!

Spring, where art thou?!!

Anyone have their fingers crossed for spring?
Umm... I don't think it's working. Maybe cross them tighter... or something.
It started storming Sunday afternoon/evening, continued through Monday and the night. Tuesday it was done storming, but it looked like this. For the record, this was after Josh spent 2 hours on Monday shovelling and clearing the driveway.


Then we had the co-op guys come and shove back the banks on either side of the driveway so that we can get in and out, and so we have room to push more snow if it comes. The kids were happy!

Myles wouldn't stay inside with the kids outside, but he had a little trouble with the deep snow!


Levi came in, looking like this - one sock, one mitten, and a hat full of snow pulled down over his eyes!

So, that was the start to our week - 2 snow days from school! (and our kids have a PD day on Friday, so only a 2 day week!) I hope it's true about March - in like a lion, out like a lamb!
