Karate Tournament!

This past weekend Isaac and Zech competed in the Saskatchewan Provincial Karate Tournament! It was an early start to get out of the house, and a really long day, but it was so much fun to be there with them and watch them compete.
They both competed in kata (done alone, it will be a big part of their testing to level up in belts) and kumite (sparring against another person). And they both did amazing!!!
One thing I definitely noticed, and loved, was that there were some adults from Boissevain at the tournament and they all made sure to be there to watch our boys compete, they made sure to come congratulate the boys after they got their medals. They were so supportive and it made the boys feel so important - just as important as the brown and black belt adults. That's so great and encouraging for them, I think.
Isaac had to do his kata twice, because he was tied for gold! Unfortunately, he stumbled doing it the second time and the little girl did great, so he got silver for his kata and he also got silver for his kumite!

Zech did really well, too! He got silver for kata and gold for kumite! (another little guy got the gold and silver - so close! they shared the first place spot on the podium photo because they both got 1st and 2nd)

We are so proud of these boys!!! They did great and were awesome representing their karate dojo!
